Trust in Him

This friday we had our pastor speak to us during our fellowship.. It was themed "Trusting God during your exams".... so here's a summary of what he said (I think it's really relevent for those who are still in exams!! nod nod)

"Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. " Proverbs 3:5-6

What does "TRUST" mean?
Well it's like pigs rolling around in mud. Yup, you read right... a pig rolling around in mud and getting dirty EVERYWHERE....

Pigs love to get dirty. Since they love mud sooo much, they want to cover their whole body (every spot possible) in mud. Similarly, trusting in God means to cover yourself in Him. It doesn't mean to cover simply a small part of your body with Him, it's every single part, every possible area in your life, your school life, your family relationships, your friendships, your love life, your career, you dreams, EVERYTHING!

"In vain you rise early and stay up late, toiling for food to eat— for he grants sleep to those he loves." Psalm 127:2

God created us for a specific sleeping pattern. It's not healthy to rise TOO early nor is it good to sleep to late (or for some people.. to not sleep at all). Sleeping means to let your body rest and gain energy to be used for daily chores. Sleeping is an essential part of your life! If you screw up your sleeping cycle, you will be restless, anxious, easily tempered, and you won't be able to concentrate as well.

"but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." Isaiah 40:31

During your exam period, or any stressful period, HOPE in God.

What does HOPE mean?
It comes from the root word, "braid" or "wrap". Basically, to hope in God means to braid yourself around Him and thus your strength will be renewed!

Something interesting --> Look at the sequence of the verse... the author starts with fly, when run and lastly walk. Isn't it more logical to flip the sequence around and start from walking to running and lastly flying?? Well in fact, sometimes flying is much easier than walking. For example, when there's a huge rainfall, is it easier to fly or to walk? Definitely FLY! God gives us what's best for us and blesses us with much more than what we would expect!

Lastly, hope in God needs patience. You need to sometimes wait and simply trust in God's timing!

Are you ready to give up your life to God? Are you ready to trust in Him? Are you ready to hope in Him?

*Not relevant to the conversation above*

Well, kinda. Depends on HOW you fly. If you mean flying as in a Superman kinda flying, then it doesn't really make a difference. If you mean flying with a plane or another vehicle, yeah, it is easier.

uhh... ignore this comment :/
